Tonight was a very restorative practice with Susie from Wellington - TopicsExpress

Tonight was a very restorative practice with Susie from Wellington Yoga Centre, taken from Geeta Iyengars book Yoga: a Gem for Women. Over two hours flew by as we chatted, explored the poses, and Susie taught me their Sanskrit names. This pose is Supta Virasana (Reclining Hero Pose) which stretches the abdomen, thighs and deep hip flexors, knees and ankles. It relieves tired legs, improves digestion, and helps relieve symptoms of menstrual pain. I used a bind on my thighs to stop my knees from sliding apart. my quads are tight from a million squats at the gym, so I had to sit on a block and have a few blankets under my back to protect my lower back from crunching up.
