Tonight we discuss factors that need to be in place for Uganda to get peaceful transfer of power which has not happened since Independence Our guests are: LC 5 Serere district Joseph Opit Okojo(NRM) , George William Okwaput and Andrew Omiat(UPC) Uganda has never had a peaceful transfer of power from the time it achieved Independence. Some people say that the bad blood between the opposition and the ruling party over many issues point to the fact that Uganda is still not safe from the bad past. What then do we need to put in place to build confidence and to ensure that we can have political transition or continuity without more bloodshed? Are our institutions like the police and the army strong enough or immune from manupulation? Can they stand firm and reject unpopular commands like the army in Burkina Faso rejected orders to kill citizens? What do you think???????????
