Tonight while I was at work I found out that one of my friends - TopicsExpress

Tonight while I was at work I found out that one of my friends committed suicide as I cried my eyes out my manager had to send me home early. Im not telling you this to throw a pity party for me or apologize to me for my loss of a friend Im writing this for a little advice. She was the first person I met my first semester of college, she was so kind and loving and always made me laugh. She would stop me in the hallways to talk about our theater class but I would always find an excuse to walk away. Little did I know it was a cry for help, it was a cry to reach out to someone and to feel loved by someone, God what I would do to go back to those moments and actually sit and talk with her about whatever she wanted. I always tried to be there for her because she was always there for me, I am in complete shock and disbelief because this is all surreal. My advice to you is youre never too busy, remember that! You always have five minutes so dont push away someone who reaches out to you. Show them that they are loved, if you see someone in the hallways or at church or work or wherever you are smile at them. You dont even realize what a simple thing like smiling can do to someone who is depressed or whatever they are going through. We were made to spread Gods love, that five minutes you spend on social media, or hours watching tv. Call a friend, text them and ask then how they are. Dont just make small talk really ask if they are okay. If youre having a crazy busy day and someone says they need to talk to you dont say you cant right now. Take those couple of minutes to drop everything and be there for them. if someone comes up to you and starts talking about random things give them the time of day. Life is way too short not to spread love to everyone. Im not blaming myself for what she did but I would like to have the peace of mind that I did all I could possibly do and Ill get to a goof place eventually. My thoughts and prayers go out to that family through this very difficult time.
