Tonights Cloud update :) First, welcome and thank you to new friends. If youre curious about Clouds heart condition, this post explains a lot: https://facebook/littlekittencloud/posts/1452926831613940 Tonight, Cloud took a second tumble off the desk - this time, she almost landed on her feet. She wasnt fazed this time either. Shes a very physical kitten - fast, high energy, fearless. Thats a lot of fun, but can be hazardous in her condition, so I have to slow her down sometimes. She spent over 10 hours outside her crate today, some of that napping on her own. Thats a record by far and a good sign for the near term. Her sisters Sweet Pea and Punkin are amazing - theyve figured out shes somehow different from an ordinary kitten. When she gets into her deep sleeps, sometimes they sense something and come over, reaching into the crate to stroke or poke her face - as if saying hey, wake up, dont sleep to deeply, we dont want you to not come back. Im anthropomorphizing, but only slightly. There is a change in their demeanor that isnt playful. After doing that a few times mid-day, I picked her up and checked her gum and tongue color - it was fine, she was just very tired from a long play session. Other times, shell be asleep and theyll ignore her, but they always respond to her deep sleeps. After she runs amok and you hold her or she goes into her deep sleep, her breathing is a bit off for a while - just a bit, but her breaths are sharper - quicker and deeper. This is typical of her condition, and as mild as it is now, not a danger - shes just working harder to get oxygen to her body. She is steadily gaining weight. Shes still under weight for her age, but she is catching up. Her height and body length are typical for her age. Shes very smart and mentally alert - doing anything a normal kitten does, and many things they dont. So far, things look really good and Im amazed at the progress she has made. Most importantly, shes happy and shes loved in her own home.
