Tonights ZZism: In the darkness, we search, reaching out for understanding. I sit alone, as always, in the darkness, groping for light. I am not alone - but, I am alone. We all sit pondering, grasping at tendrils, perceived or otherwise, that establish a sense of direction, a sense of purpose, a sense of meaning for everything that occurs around our limited field of view. We know that there is greater than us all around us, we know it is there, but our ability to access it is muted by our own dependence upon the darkness that sits even closer to us than our own hearts. Into that space, a little bit of light occasionally appears and sparks new distractions, even though it might be naught but errant errata, or even an illusion of desire malformed into something worse than hope. And still, in the darkness, alone, we sit - surrounded by the vast scope of humanity, its myriad varieties, its multiple possibilities, its endless capacity for potential both realized in part or completely missed by the farthest mark. To us all, individually and collectively, it is our own choice which we manifest into the dark, or to wrap even tighter to our shells. We can either inject a little bit of light into that darkness, or continue to wrap it even tighter still. Shadows will always fester, and rip at the corners of our individual cinder blocks of self, but they can only get into our souls if we let them. The shadows know no boundary, as they are always want to test each and every surface, each and every nook and cranny, each and every potential exploitable avenue to pull one away from ones self. In the days even darker still to come, we all bear that choice: be Brightness or run silent and dark. I have a cookie - would you like me to brighten the way?
