Tony Dungy is one of the most well respected men in America. He was asked a specific question and gave an honest heartfelt answer. That the drafting of Michael Sams will draw too much media attention and that he would not have drafted him. The reaction has been swift and harsh. Where does it say in anyones book of rights that you can criticize this great man for having an honest, and accurate, opinion of a draft choice? Does the fact that Sams is gay play any part in why Dungy would not draft him? No. Was Dungy showing prejudice? No. The media and everyone else should back off and accept his comments for what they were, an HONEST and ACCURATE assessment of why he would not draft Sams - Or Johnny Football, or Tim Tebow - too much distraction for the team - THAT is a legitimate comment. Its sad that the PC mongers have slimed Dungy with their grimy, self-absorbed paws.
