Tony just found an old dog wandering in the neighborhood. Poor old guy was shivering and clearly lost. He did find the owners and they don’t live far, about 300 yards through the woods. They were so thankful and distraught. They said he never left the yard before. Just because a dog never did something before doesn’t mean he’ll never do it. Especially an old dog who may have cognitive dysfunction. There’s a first time for everything. The same holds true for the dog that bolts through an electric fence. Not one person has ever said “he does it all the time” it’s always “he never did that before”. And with those damn electric fences they’ll take the hit to get out but not to come back in.
