Too often police seem to operate under the assumption that the law does not apply to them. Fail to grovel or confront their abuse and or corruption and they can find a pretext to kill you, and then lie under oath about it, because in their view they were just doing their job and you must be at fault, because they said so. I suspect that many judges ate intimidated indirectly by their uniformed and armed gang. Therefore I advise if one is ever stopped G-d forbid, be compliant and polite, over no sarcasm, ask no questions because they can and will do anything that they want to to you. Treat them like people with very low tolerances for frustration, having their wills thwarted or criticized. This is the exact opposite of what the profession requires, therefore, keep in mind that whenever they stop a person that person and those with them are potentially in mortal danger, if the police suspect that they are being even subtly disrespected. who require management that demands tact and finesse. If abused go directly to the nearest precinct and insist on filing a formal compliant report with the Citizens Review Board. Be factual and neither exaggerate nor distort, facts. Even if you are at fault in any way, admit it pay your fine, but respectfully insist that the officer be held to account to follow the law no less than you at all times. They are authorized to use deadly force, we dare not have people so empowered, who lack the social/emotional skills to restrain themselves from needless brutality. Yes, you will open up the probability of retaliatory harassment, but you will be acting properly and with G-ds help find appropriate redress to injury, and more importantly have that officers promotion possibility diminished if they fail to act repeatedly with the complaint of many individuals, who they have abused. Contact your local politician and tell them that the time has come to make police work as licensed profession, requiring better screening, training, compensation and support and malpractice insurance, which if there are too many claims against will make it cost prohibitive for them to continue to practice legally. A final note to the Frum, behave in a way that is a Kiddush Hashem ( act in a way that will be seen as praiseworthy but not as a martyr); and avoid making a Chilul Hashem. Dont allow yourself to speak condescendingly or worse and above all stay calm and dont lose your temper.
