Took Calliope in this morning for a consult on her condition. Walked out of there without her. She is going to get a permanent tracheostomy. Basically she will have a nickel-sized hole in the front of her neck/throat to breathe through. It will totally by-pass the laryngeal area, which is in collapse, and she will breathe normally and have a relatively normal life. If you see that throat cancer commercial with the guy in the shower, thats pretty much the deal. Sigh. I cant let her suffer and Im not putting her down if theres an option for her to live a good life. Sorry Madd! College is on you!! Heh, heh.
