Took folks out for a sunset cruise tonight and wasnt looking for whales but as we went thru Cattle Pass I saw whale watch boats heading towards the SAlmon Bank buoy. One large male from J pod and 3 or 4 females. we paralleled as required and lost sight of the male. The females were inside by a gillnet boat picking up his net so we shut down to watch and WHOOSH! The male surfaced 50 behind the boat then slowly swam by. Was that as good as it got? Nope, as a final show he breeched twice... in the sunset!!! Holy Hollywood, it doesnt get any better :-)
