Took my granddaughter for an hour long stroller ride last night, - TopicsExpress

Took my granddaughter for an hour long stroller ride last night, in Bangor. Visited the old neighborhood and many many others with a walk around the block and back up home. Sorry, but I am utterly disgusted and totally saddened by the way people keep their homes. I am not the Nazi Home Police but what I saw was not the Bangor in which I grew up. Filthy, porches (hate to see the inside), weeds in sidewalks and gutters, yards filled like a used salvage business, unpainted homes, you name the episode for Hoarders and its here. While this is not uniform (and it was refreshing seeing many nice homes) they are few on the streets we walked. I feel sorry for the responsible home owners who have to live by these vermin. Zoning laws dont work because there is no law against laziness. Is anyone out there as appalled as I am? When I grew up everyone took pride in their homes and yard. I am aware that there are absent landlords, but I cannot understand the mentality of anyone living their lives as slobs. Soap and water are cheap and elbow grease is free. I dont want to hear excuses.
