Took the boys to LR today to visit with their mom. She looks great - seems to be doing well. Beverly was in tow, bless her heart, to help me with some items ... Decided to take us all to a late lunch / early dinner at Golden Corral - Me, Dickson, Walter, and POOR, long suffering Bev. I NOW KNOW why the word Corral is used in the name, I have never seen so many cattle sized people gathered to eat as much as possible. They were moving as quickly as they could around an unbelievably sized buffet, literally running into each other, in an orgy of gluttony. It was a sickening debauched sight indeed. It took me several seconds to compose myself before joining in...It was delightful to be surrounded by so many who made me look down right skinny. Upon entering I was surprised to learn that the little girl at the counter had automatically given me the senior citizen rate. I asked her why she assumed I was a SENIOR CITIZEN. ..She said Fr., I am sure you should have been getting your discount for years, so I knew I didnt need to ask you... *sigh* It was a good restaurant/ huge selection, but it will make you self-conscious. Thank goodness I didnt see anyone I know, and Know you wont tell anyone... Picked up the boys pants at Mr. Wicks in LR. Nice. HOWEVER, could afford several items and suits at LOOKING GOOD in Pine Bluff. High quality, fitting, et al, done quickly. The folks who run it have long ties to TRINITY EPISCOPAL SCHOOL, now their children are in Ridgway. Very nice folks, and do a great job. I have sent several there, all were pleased. They even fit me. Dickson and Walter leave Tuesday for New York with their godfather, Uncle Percival. Ill be right here, the Lord willing, and the creek dont rise - as they say... (4 days for them this time). I think because of Jay and Fr. Joseph they came back from one trip Californiafied .. (one son born in Mississippi, the other Alabama)... I wonder after this if they will be New York Yankees. Pine Bluff is a great place to be. It had been raining all day in Little Rock, and when we got back to PB, the Sun was shining. OH! BEFORE leaving this morning we saw a parade of sorts, people carrying signs asking for an end of violence, and murder, here. I hope and pray they were successful in their objective of peace. God bless them - there were not many. Im with them in prayer. Church Tomorrow.
