Top-Tip: Yesterday evening, whilst warming up for the FCA Freuchie TT, I overheard two riders debating whether or not to wear gloves. I dont know what the outcome was, but, on hearing the conversation, I briefly considered not wearing gloves (only briefly), before reaffirming my gloves-always-on policy despite the warmth of the evening. Boy was I glad I did when I crashed! Checking my gloves after last nights tumble, the palms on both have taken a sound gouging. Had I not been wearing gloves, Id now be wearing big bandages instead to cover the shredded palms of my hands. Upshot - dont even consider riding glove-less. You never expect to come off your bike (especially in a TT), but accidents cant always be predicted, and they do happen. Incidentally, I came off at ~36kph according to my GPS track. It wasnt a *hard* fall to the deck, but it certainly stripped plenty of skin off. PS The bikes fine! :-)
