Top ten student stress and anxiety busting tips School can be a difficult time for many of us. Between fighting the crowds, exams and homework it’s almost impossiblefor anyone to not become stressed and anxious. It’s what you do when your stressed that’simportant. Let’s get real…everyone at some point is stressed from school.So how do you cope with the stresses of school? You may already be coping and don’t evenknow it. There are a few important strategies to use whilecoping with school. I have listed them below…1.Eat breakfast– Eating breakfast enables our energy level and enhances our concentration and mood. It’s the very beginning of a new day and you want to start it out right.2.Get to know your teachers– This is critical. Your teachers are there to help you and are wonderful people. Utilize them.3.Have a back-up plan– When dealing with mental health at school, always have a back-up plan. this could include a safe place to go for help, a call to your parents or a close friend or relative for assistance. Use this plan when you are very anxious and stressing out too much or need a break.4. Remember to always get to know your guidance department,principals, teachers and vice principals-They are there to help and the help they provide can be exceptional. The more help the better.5.Always go into school with an open mind-There are many stereotypes that come with school. Always keep an open mind and create your own truthsabout the experience.6. Keep your friends by your side-They are there to help easeyou into your place in school. If you don’t have any close friends, keep an open mind and you will find some.7.Stay organized-If you start to become disorganized and fall behind, the stress and anxiety will begin to creep up on you like a cloud and will become stifling and overwhelming8.Do your homework!Doing well in school can help improve your overall mood in many ways.Knowing that you are passionate about something and are good atit helps your confidence. It also helps a great deal when you do not feel overwhelmed.9.Join extra-curricular clubs and school activities-This will do a number of things. It will help you to create a friend network, increase self-esteem and self worth…and it is fun!10.Don’t sweat the small stuff- Everyone has things they are stressed about that aren’t worth their time. Remember to not sweat the small stuff. It’ll work out the way it is supposed to eventually. In the end, school is what you make of it.
