Topic: Present Yourself Holy Before The Lord Text: Roman 12:1-2 By: Evang. Timothy Ekokogbe I love this particular passage of the Bible that was given to us in the book of Roman 12:1b which says I appeal to you: offer yourself as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to his service and pleasing to Him. This is one of the remarkable portion of the Bible that always strike my mind whenever evil thoughts comes in my heart; the question I always ask is that why did Paul have to beg us? Lets look at it again: I appeal to you in order version it says I beg you, the expression of apostle Paul was clear here, he want us to know that the message is very important to us as Christian today. Now, Paul make it clear that we should present ourselves as a living sacrifice; living means alive while sacrifice means to offer in order word, paul was saying to us give your living being to God as and offer. When God gives, He gives freely without change of heart, and this is one of the understanding Paul want us to have when he was presenting this message to us. Now let me ask this question, how will you present yourself before the lord if he as u out for a walk or dinner? I know some will say that they will put on the best fashion design or perfume or dress neatly but the Bible makes it clear to us that God look into our heart and I believe this is one of the reason Paul the apostle was begging us to make our life pure before the Lord. Since you cant go to him with bad clothing, then choose to meet Him with a pleasing heart full of repentance and Love. The Bible said that Jesus bought us with a prize so our body now belongs to him.. when I remember this word of Jesus, I said to myself God help me No wonder David prayed to God and said in the book of psalm (19:14) He says Lord, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable by you I hope this is your daily prayer to God? The Bible said God is looking for those without spot, wrinkled or any other things when he shall appear! My prayer is that God will cause us to follow the working power of the Holy Spirit as we strive daily to present our body holy before Him................... .....
