Toronto Pig/Chicken/Cow Save vigils & other vegan outreach events • Tuesday, October 29, 8-10 am. Toronto Pig Save vigil at Lake Shore and Strachan. Please join us for our weekly vigil to bear witness of the 6,000 pig angel victims in transport trucks being sent to the horrific “Quality Meat Packers” pig slaughterhouse in downtown Toronto, where pigs are electrically prodded with 50 volt hard-wired prods towards a CO2 gas chamber. They scream at 90 decibels—a level at which pig and human hearing loss occurs, due to their extreme individual and collective torture and suffering. Please go vegan for them and be a daily animal advocate by leafleting, sharing films such as Forks over Knives, joining animal justice groups, and making connections in your work with other justice causes for the greatest justice cause in the present world. • Saturday, November 2, 12-4 pm. Everyone invite your friends to the November 1st weekend opening of Free Birds -- a new movie coming out. We want as many people to go and watch it the first weekend it comes out! Plus its a great opportunity to dress up as a bird and leaflet vegan starter kits and info on saving turkeys and chickens! Free Birds is a comedy movie directed by Jimmy Hayward about two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history - and get turkey off the holiday menu for good. The main characters are voiced by veg actor Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson. Doesnt matter where you are, go with your friends, or create an event in your area to get people to join in! Bring vegan starter kits and leaflet the crowds of people waiting in line to see this wonderful film and, after the film, ask them if they like to go veg and give them more leaflets! If you have a chicken costume, put it on!
