Several museums in Canada are home to Islamic art collections, but the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto will be the first of the continent exclusively devoted to Islamic art. The Museum collection contains over one thousand artefacts and artworks, spanning over one thousand years of Islamic history. The Museum aims to be a showcase of the artistic accomplishments of Muslim civilisations from the Iberian Peninsula to China.
