Toxic water being used by Selangor, says report The water from unused mining ponds which the Selangor state government is planning to extract in order to solve water shortage problems in the state is toxic, according to a report in the New Straits Times today. The newspaper conducted its own lab tests on water samples that its team had sourced directly from the unused mining ponds in Bestari Jaya, and found that lead content in the water was 460 percent above the safe limit, and iron content was 554 percent above the limit.
