We have only to imagine how differently we would be described - and will be, after our deaths - by each of the family members who believe they know us. - Gloria Steinem I talked with a woman whose mother had passed away. They were not close. She told me that at the memorial there were things expressed about her mother she never knew. She realized that resentment, gossip from ex-spouses and family members kept her from ever knowing the heart of her mother. All humans have a life. They have people who love them, receive them and also those who resent them. It is difficult to cut through the thick wall of offense and gossip that is often built by people who take no time at all to know the heart. My comment: We were at the funeral of a dear friend not too long ago, who we had been in relationship with for many years, and the pastor who shared his perspective of our loved ones character and life, who she truly was, described her, perfectly! The Lord had revealed the heart of our friend to this man, even though he had not known her for very long at all. When he finished, the woman sitting next to me, knowing our mutual friend as long as I, was crying softly. She said to me, I dont think I knew her very well. I simply replied, No.....you didnt. We should never wrongfully JUDGE someone by what we see or hear, for by whatever measure we judge, so will we be judged. Judgment causes us to either miss out on a relationship, or it will cause us to put up a barrier in an established relationship. We should treat each other the way we would want to be treated. Taking time to truly know someone, is life changing, for them, as well as, for us. Allowing God, Who is the Only Just Judge, allows Him to change situations in each others lives without missing out or sacrificing one another. Change usually has something to do with a slight adjustment in the heart of a person that we cannot always see because of our own humanity, that only God, Himself, can change. LOVE NEVER FAILS...LOVE PREVAILS!!!
