Tracking Trinity Pines With Marilyn Lohman Sympathy to the family of Becky Wollin Roehl. Phyllis Sillman had her as a student in grade school plus she also was a waitress at the Pines for a few years. Summer is the time for picnics. Korth Park was the scene for the St. Vincent de Paul volunteer picnic a while ago. Irene Sullivan, the Sillmans and Lois Fanello attended this annual affair. Lois made her famous German potato salad for all and I understand she came home with very little. Ray Kessenich celebrated his birthday with gusto a couple weeks ago. Included in the fun were daughter (Lynn and husband, Gary, from Vancouver, WA), daughter (Jill) and son(Rick) plus granddaughter (Kristen). On that Friday evening they were fortunate and proud to see a play in Milwaukee ably directed by gifted Kristen. Sunday Ray and Marilyn were treated to a scrumptious brunch at the Seven Seas restaurant on the shore of Nagawicka Lake near Oconomowoc. Their Pines’ birthday dinner included all but Rick who was unable to attend. As Marilyn said, “Memories are made of these.” Our exercise group took a new twist last week when there wasn’t a tape directing us along with music. We decided to do it by memory, which by the way was really good, we didn’t miss a one although they were mixed up a little. Music was furnished by our humming and singing of some of the songs we remembered. Never let it be said that us oldsters are fading away. Bits and Pieces: Jeannette DeLap and her daughter, Jan Amundson spent a couple days in Viroqua a few weeks ago...The Kessenichs visited the beautiful Rotary Gardens in Janesville...A filled van of residents were driven to Jelli’s Farm Market store near Helenville...”Club 90” had their monthly coffee clutch by the fireplace-members only...Doris Stockfish happily spent a week with family at a lake near Hayward, fishing and having a fun time...Annual Pignic is on for this next Sunday...Want to see a cute movie? Lois Bendall and I went to see “And So It Goes” with Diane Keaton and Michael Douglas. It was funny, sad, and serious. I’ve learned age is a very high price to pay for maturity. I’ve learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it. I’ve learned that a friend is someone who reaches for your hand but touches your heart.
