Trading economic privilege for political support is standard in the most of the world. America used to be different, but is becoming less so. The govt is giving greater and greater power to administrative agencies to make and enforce the rules by which we must live. As voters, we are becoming less & less relevant. The letter of the law and the constitution itself are becoming subordinate to the reading and interpretation of the same by those in power. The first priority of our government has become to increase the size and power of our government. And if you think that your side is any better than theirs, youre largely disillusioned. Increasingly, Im taking on a dont re-elect anyone posture. 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 YEARS is simply too long.
