Traditional Shipibo handmade tapestries and bags are now for sale - TopicsExpress

Traditional Shipibo handmade tapestries and bags are now for sale here in Canada. Each tapestry has been uniquely crafted to portray sacred visions from the spirit world. Some of the larger tapestries represent two or three weeks of meticulous embroidery done with needle and thread. All of the paint and fabric is 100% natural made of fibers from the local plants of the Amazon forest surrounding Pucallpa, Peru. They can be hung on the wall or used as a table cover to protect a household and bring in good spirits. View the collection below. Help support the indigenous population of Vista Alegre on the Rio Ucayali-- profits will be directed towards the purchase of headlamps, reading glasses, first aid kits, and other useful supplies for the community. They are available in Vancouver until April 13th. I am also bringing them to High Level with me. I can send close up photos of any particular items of interest. Prices range from $10 for the smallest ones to $100+ for the largest pieces representing weeks of work.
