Traditional Thanksgiving dinner in the Jones family homestead in - TopicsExpress

Traditional Thanksgiving dinner in the Jones family homestead in Woodbury will be a little more crowded than usual. Brian W. Jones, the family patriarch who is senior vice president of Newfield Bank, will be there, as will his wife, Joanne Katzen-Jones, described by Brian as chef, scratch baker extraordinaire, outstanding hostess, and organic gardener. Plus son Billy, 24, completing his masters in electrical engineering at Rowan University; daughter Juliene Raine, 8, a third grader at Friends School in Mullica Hill; sister-in-law Jan Bass, two cats (April and Perun) and one dog (Duke). Oh, and for good measure two attendees from the United States Coast Guard station in Cape May. Brian will be up early tomorrow for the hours drive to Cape May to pick up two Coast Guard cadets, then drive them back to Gloucester County for a festive Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings. Its part of a program (Operation Fireside) established through the American Red Cross South Jersey Region to provide a family atmosphere for recruits who are unable to get home for the holidays. Jones wont know the identities of the cadets until he meets them in Cape May. This is a first for our family and its something we anticipate very much, says Jones, a busy county volunteer. Well pick them up before noon and drive them to our home. Well watch a little football on TV, eat around 3 and have them back on base by 8. Its nice to be able to show some hospitality to cadets who are away from home at the holidays. But my wife deserves all the credit for this. — A West Deptford travel agency has changed its name after the passing of popular long-time agency manager Suzanne Whitfield-Gambone. Cruise Outlets and Travel, located at 833 Kings Highway, is now All Destinations Travel Company. Its new manager is Anna Maria Lorang, an experienced travel sales manager. Suzanne managed the agency over 15 years and was well-respected in the industry, says owner Robert N. DiLella. She always went the extra mile to provide personal service. She made sure every vacation was special to her clients. She will be missed. The rebranded agency serves as a legacy to her professionalism. Im honored to be following in the footsteps of Suzanne, says Lorang, who previously was national sales manager of Tenon Tours, selling Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales. Its my goal to make All Destinations a one-stop shopping place for all vacation experiences. The name change signals an expansion of the agencys scope. Cruises were once the agencys primary focus, but clients now will be able to book global trips. — Two local physicians, Joseph Fallon, endocrinology, and Alan Lawit, family medicine, will speak at a diabetes seminar at the Infante Jesus Parish Ministry Center in Woodbury Heights (behind St. Margarets School) Tuesday, Dec. 2, 6:30 p.m. A question and answer session will follow. --- nj/south-jersey-voices/index.ssf/2014/11/bob_shryock_woodbury_family_ho.html
