Traffic ADVISORY The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a daytime lane restriction for eastbound traffic on the Western Kentucky Parkway in MUHLENBERG County starting Monday, September 30, 2013. The eastbound lane restriction running from about the 58 mile marker to the 60 mile marker is to allow a contractor to remove trees and brush from the right of way along this section. This is part of an ongoing safety effort to provide more clear space so motorists can see deer approaching the roadway. It will also assist snow and ice clearing efforts during the winter by reducing shading of the road surface by nearby trees. This eastbound lane restriction is expected to be in place from approximately 6:00 a.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m., local time, for about the next 2 to 4 weeks. Motorists are asked to slow down and use appropriate caution in the work zone where equipment and maintenance personnel will be along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
