Trafficked at birth, but now they are seven happy little angels! Eight years ago today, on October 10, 2006 seven newborn baby girls were rescued when police busted a #childtrafficking gang on a highway near Jincheng City in central China’s Shanxi province. The eldest child was just one month old, while the other six were only 7 to 10 days old at the time. All the babies were sent to the local Children’s Welfare Center because their birth parents could not be found. Xu Shujun, a traffic police officer who was on duty during the bust, and his colleagues adopted these infant girls and treated them as their own daughters. Now, the seven “sisters” have grown up and are entering the third grade in a local primary school. Today is their “birthday,” and their smiles tell us a story full of love.
