HMP & YOI Doncaster was built by the prison service and is managed by Serco Home Affairs. It opened in June 1994 and is a Category B local prison with a total capacity of 1,145 male prisoners. Your role is to supervise prisoners in all aspects of wing based activity in accordance with Directors Rules and Prison Service Standards. You will report to your direct line management any issues that would undermine security and the safe environment for staff and prisoners. Duties: Work to prescribed systems as laid out in Director`s Rules. (Policies & Procedures) Ensure that work and tasks are carried out on time when required Enter effective and accurate reports in documents as required in Director`s Rules Be fully conversant in the following subjects: o Security and the LSS o Cleanliness and Hygiene o Personal Officer Scheme o Incentives and Earned Privileges (IEP) o Anti-Bullying Scheme o Suicide Prevention o Self-Harm Prevention & ACCT Procedures o The prison daily regime/routine Conduct self-audits in accordance with Prison Service Standards and base lines. Report any discrepancies to your line manager Escort/supervise movement of prisoners in accordance with current policies and in a safe, secure and timely manner Report any matters or occurrences that are untoward or digression from the regime to the Unit Manager Maintenance of security in residential areas (Cell Searches) Maintenance of safety in residential areas Maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene standards in residential areas Contractual compliance in all activities within residential areas Adherence to Director`s Rules in residential areas Skills and Attributes: 5 GCSEs of grade C or above or equivalent are desirable Previous experience in a similar field an advantage although not essential as full training given Excellent communicator/interpersonal skills Able to cope under pressure, team worker, with ability to work alone I T literate Capacity to make reasonable decisions Aware of Health and Safety issues Able to manage large groups Please note that you will need to attend an 8 weeks intensive training course which is a pass or fail course. - See more at: aplitrak/?adid=amhpbGwuMzM5NDUuMTc2MEBzZXJjby5hcGxpdHJhay5jb20&IND#sthash.nZu1vRsN.dpuf
