Training Tip Tuesday: Move more! This tip, video, and challenge - TopicsExpress

Training Tip Tuesday: Move more! This tip, video, and challenge relate to interactions I had with a man in the past couple days. On Sunday, he stopped me to ask a question about supplements. Lucky for him, I happen to be a fitness professional. What started with the question, whats the difference between whey and isolated whey? turned into an hour long discussion delving into his health history and finding the true reason why he asked that question: he was desperate to lose weight and has severe diabetes. It hospitalized him 3 times last year and the same thing caused his brother to lose a limb and later, lose his life. He read somewhere that whey and these other supplements burn fat, so he was going to stock up on each one and blend them together for breakfast, but had no exercise plans. He didnt fit the mold of my typical client, but the man needed help. I invited him to the gym for a free consultation and convinced him to not buy any of it, because its not the solution to his problem. He reminded me so much of the man in this video, Arthur. Yesterday (Monday), he arrived right on time. I showed him the video and It brought tears to his eyes. Arthur committed to being healthier and didnt do it with some fancy diet or supplement program, he did it by moving more each day. When it got tough, he didnt quit. After we talked, I had the man do squats off a chair. He did 4 and thats all he could handle. Instead of forcing him to do more, I congratulated him on doing 4 more than he did yesterday and that tomorrow, hell get 5. I told him it was Day 1 and challenged him to start his journey now by moving a little more each day. My challenge to you is the same. Regardless of your fitness level, I challenge you to move more and improve your health by walking at least 30 minutes EVERY day (not on a treadmill). https://youtube/watch?v=suTPns5cy_Q
