Training for strength sports is associated with similar or lower rates of injury than training for endurance sports such as long-distance running and triathlon. When selecting activities for health, people can be advised that strength sports are not more likely to cause injury than endurance sports. There is a lot of data / numbers thrown around in this article. This may be the best explanation of Injury rate & risk I have seen. Still not 100% reliable since most of these studies are survey style or what ever the science gurus call it. Also have a variable with interpretation of what is an injury. Areas not covered and my guess would be, it is on the high end maybe with long distance running. Sports teams / clubs, basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer.
