Transitioning.org is organising a Singaporean First workshop for those who are currently unemployed - focusing on helping those in transition on how to overcome the emotional hiccups of unemployment and finding innovative ways to job search in an increasingly tough and hostile work environment. Unemployment can be very destabilising and many have succumbed to the crippling effects of prolonged unemployment. Some families have broken up due to the financial and emotional consequences of unemployment. We have also seen many PMETs in transition going through severe depression and experiencing suicidal tendencies during this tough period of their lives. The How to survive unemployment workshop will touch on the following issues:- 1. Practical ways to overcome emotional turbulence 2. Ways to squeeze money out of nowhere 3. How to network and find jobs the unconventional way 4. Keeping family together in a crisis 5. How to stay positive while in transition 6. Finding meaning during unemployment – volunteering The workshop details are as follows:- Date:- 17 June (Mon) from 2 to 5pm Venue: NVPC seminar room 1 Registration: Please email [email protected] for RSVP booking Number of participants: 20 only Refreshment: Teabreak Do register for the workshop if you are facing emotional turbulence now while in transition – there is no shame in coming out to seek support from fellow Singaporeans going through the turmoil of unemployment.
