#TrappersWin! The Northwest Trappers are the Region IX North champions —AGAIN! The Trappers beat the Casper College Thunderbirds in another match that went the distance and tested the skill and mental fortitude of both teams. Northwest fell behind in the first set and again in the third but battled back to win 20-25, 25-15, 27-29, 25-15, 15-7. Freshman outside Aleksandra Djordjevic led the Trappers with 24 kills, 10 digs and seven aces. She followed up the victory with making the All-Tournament team with three other teammates. Outside Teodora Tepavac was one of those teammates to earn All-Tournament members and had the second highest amount of kills with 18 and tied for first with two other Trappers with 13 digs. The third All-Tournament member was RIght Side/Setter Megan Huddleston who had 27 assists, eight digs and six kills. The last person to make the All-Tournament team was Right Side, Vera Horstmann, who had seven kills. Sophomore setter Kimber Call led the offense with 29 assists and earned a double-double with 13 digs. Libero Elisa Steve Brooks had 13 digs and four aces. Krystalyn Sloan held down the middle of the net with eight blocks and five kills (one error, 10 attempts). The Trappers will return to Casper for the NJCAA National Tournament Nov. 20-22.
