Travel debacle! After leaving OBX after a beautiful wedding! First I forget my phone, turn around, get phone then get stuck in sand (house on beach) for an hour! After finally getting on the road, I call Delta airlines to inform them that we may not make our flight due to car trouble. Sure no problem! According to their flat tire rule you can switch flights for $6.50. Great! Supervisor gets on the phone to inform me that being stuck in the sand doesnt constitute as a car problem and that all I need is some strong men to get me out of that problem. Easier said then done....if there were strong men around to solve problems anytime they came up, there would be a lot more single woman in this world...but thats another story. She then went on to tell me that we had plenty of time to get to the airport. My GPS says it will take us 4 1/2 hrs, can you tell me a better way? Her reply thats not part of my job description. Seriously??? Anyway the conversation went from bad to worse and she refused to put her supervisor on the phone. End result, I said Im not paying the $250 to change tickets....yet. Answer - drive fast! Real fast! Fast forward to 4:45, we arrive at RDU only to find out we forgot a suitcase! As we check in, the gentleman at the desk says your flights have been switched to another flight and our seats were sold! When I try to explain (calmly) to the person at the desk what happened. He calmly explained to me no problem, you can go stand by Me - are there seats available? Him - Yes, 3. Me - Can u at least put my husband and kids on so they can get home? Kids have to go to school in am? Him - Only if we cant sell them first! Me - WTF, I already bought them! 8:00PM - kids and Darren have landed and are in route home. Mom and I just boarded plane. As we are walking in the plane the flight attendant stops the line at me. Im thinking, crap Ive been flagged by security after today. Nope - this little shit with his Duke polo shirt (no offense to any Duke students) in first class needs a Bud light!!! Are you kidding me???? If your going to be so arrogant to hold up the line, order something better than a Bud light
