Traveling Max update. Sorry I havent updated everyone here on Max for awhile...no good excuses. Max started out in AZ then we moved to MO and were there for 3 1/2 months and now were in Cherokee, NC...loving the mountains! His TCC seems to be slowly progressing. They gave him 6-9 months and were ending month 6. I dont know how quickly the cancer progresses, but when they did the ultrasound, the lining of his bladder was pretty thick already and there was a tumor pushing into the bladder. They couldnt operate because of the location of the tumor. Anyhow, hes been on meds and been doing pretty well. A couple weeks ago, he started slowing down on our walks and he nipped at some people. I took him to the vet, and she said he tensed up when she probed him and felt like he was starting to experience some pain. We put him on Tramadol and he was quickly back to walking alongside my other two on our walks. I tried giving him 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon, hoping it would help him feel better the whole day, but it didnt seem to work, so Ive been giving him the full tablet in the mornings and he seems to be doing well through the day. He is slow to get moving in the mornings some days, but after breakfast and getting him to take the meds (unwillingly I might add), he perks up before our next potty walk. His appetite is still monstrous, the boy can eat anything and everything and never gets full! I make fun of him when Im getting his food ready, he makes noises and often sounds like a little pig, so I snort back at him and call him piggy :-) If I leave him unattended for even 30 seconds and forget to put things away, he will eat whatever it is. I am used to my two and I can leave anything laying around and they wont eat it. Hes climbed up on the table and gotten into loaves of bread, dog treats, chips...ugh! Of course, he pays for it with the runs, and dang hes fast! Ive learned to not leave him unattended or put him in the crate, even if I just step outside to get something out of the car! A before pic when Cindy Goetz freed him from the pound and a current pic from last week!
