Traveling with Allergies - Swiss Air Swiss Air First International Carrier Certified as Allergy Friendly The international carrier is the first airline to be certified as allergy-friendly by the Berlin-based European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation. Swiss Air says in a written statement If you are affected by an allergy, you can be certain when flying with SWISS that all efforts have been made to combat the presence of allergens in consideration of your wellbeing. The statement also claims the airline takes measures to: 1) Minimize the presence of allergens within its cabin and lounge environment, particularly in upholstery materials, air conditioning or certain food items. 2) Provide HVAC systems and other measures to filter out pollens and animal hair from pets on board. 3) Use no air freshening substances with the potential to irritate the respiratory tract 4) Provide hypoallergenic soap for sensitive skin. 5) Provide lactose-free and gluten-free products as well as alternative snacks on European flights. 6) SWISS cabin crew members are trained to respond to an allergic emergency, and anti-histamine tablets are available if needed.
