Tremendous day at #Totalwarrior Lake District with Graeme & Rhona ! 5th female across the line, great result considering the prep for my #4marathonsin4days . The weather was full on, Rhona having to bear the brunt of it. It was a challenging start to split the pack up, before coming to a fire jump which required a leap of faith in a pit of water. With the Marshall shouting for you to run & jump, I looked around me, no one to gauge it by. A look of dear on my face & not one to run from my fears - over I went! Phew it was ok, my feet had touched the bottom. Repeated ups & downs over the terrain, over & unders up a hill. Wall of increasing height with 1 overhanging wall. Tough with the wet conditions & much better than any of my previous attempts in races. I helped a couple of lasses who proceeded to then leave me - not in keeping with the supporting nature of these events. Big ✋high 5 to the guys who came along & helped me. Rolling logs under cargo nets is surprisingly challenging - heels tangled, rolling my log over the net in front of me, to cries of face down, bums up theres a song with those words Im sure! Stream crossings of varying heights, all made much faster flowing & deeper with the weather! Challenging! Our extra trail section for King of the Mountain & make up the 10 mile course was tough, quad-sapping! One minute guys would be running along in front of you and the next they would disappear knee/ thigh/ waist deep into the bog! We came back into the obstacle section to face barbwire crawls - bear crawls, bear crawls saved the knees! Deep muddy sections that you simply disappeared into, tunnel crawls, balance beam where I was cheered by the 2 marshalls & called glamorous lol! Under 3 logs, yes head under, water slides - epic, monkey bars at the end - Conquered & with audience pressure! Boom!
