TripAdvisor wont allow me to post this because it says its about two separate things. As my treatment at the restaurant very much affected my stay this is nothing but censorship. Seems this website likes to keep its corporate clients happy. __________________________________________ Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom Everything about this hotel is stunning, the painted glass exterior, the hotels city center location, the all white ultra modern rooms, amazing views of Vienna and the stunning spa and gym. I loved my room, its sliding panels which enabled a wide open space or cozy sleeping environment, a big bath, rain shower, double sinks, large multimedia tv, ample storage space and free minibar (although limited to water and juice). I also loved the service from the staff in the spa and reception desk who were attentive and helpful. What I didnt like, and what left me frankly shocked was the service I received in what promised to be one of the best restaurants in Vienna (with stunning views). When I arrived to ask for a table I was looked at like something that the maitre d had stepped on. One very rude man skipped in front of me and was given a table straight away and when I protested the staff member insisted it was not his fault that the man had jumped in before me. I was then offered a table two hours later as if it would be some kind of chore to have me dine there. Friendly service it was not. I decided not to eat there and was left quite angry by the whole experience. It was such a shame, as I was so looking forward to this hotel.
