True Story #1: Years ago, I awoke in a house not my own and prepared to take the California bar exam. As I showered, ate breakfast and brushed my teeth, I stressed about the events of the day. Was I sufficiently prepared? Would I get in a car accident on the way to the test? Would I run out of gas before I arrived? Would I make it to the exam on time? As I contemplated these worrisome thoughts, another thought suddenly intruded: Why doesnt this toothpaste taste like toothpaste? I looked down at the tube in my hand and read the words printed it on it: Chlomitrazole, anti-fungal creme. If ingested, CONTACT POISON CONTROL CENTER IMMEDIATELY. True Story #2: This morning I was eating breakfast in my car, reviewing my notes for todays Sunstone presentation on LGBT outreach, wondering how I would come off. Would I seem too LGBT-sympathetic for some conservatives? Would I seem not LGBT-sympathetic enough for some liberals? Would I perform the balancing act I was aiming for? Would I accidentally say or do something that partook of ignorant or tired stereotypes? As I contemplated these thoughts, I inadvertently knocked my daughters art project off the dashboard and into my lap. Then I exited my vehicle -- with 10 minutes to spare before my talk -- and saw that the front of my pants were covered in GLITTER.
