The U.S. #shale boom is producing low density oil, known as light crude. Many U.S. refineries are set up to handle high density (heavy crude) which they need to import to make their products. With light crude production on the rise, U.S. refiners will struggle to process all the countrys domestic output. Lifting the ban on crude exports would solve this issue.
