True story....so yesterday I received a check from the State of California (Franchise Board) for $822 which is exactly what I sent them a check for 3 weeks ago to pre-pay my 2014 taxes. My accountant advises me to do this every year so I do not get charged a penaly + interest for paying late. This is what I get for paying my bills on time! Yesterday afternoon I call the 800 number on the check stub to speak with a representative. There are so many menus & options to choose from & none of them apply to my problem so I give up frustrated. Today I do a google search for another number for business taxes and find one. I call that number. I do get through....to a voice mail that tells me that I cannot stay on hold but they will take my number & I will be called back in one hour. I leave my number. When they call I am on the line with a client so I miss their call. I call them back & leave my number again. This time they will call me back in more than 3 hours! I try to pay them. They send me my money back. Now I spend all day trying to sort out their problem! Talk about bureaucratic bullshit! Ive been using that bullshit word a lot lately but there appears to be too much of it floating around in my atmosphere!
