True to its name, the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs - TopicsExpress

True to its name, the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) handles all military and veteran matters across Michigan. As you may know, the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, a division of DMVA, was created to help meet the needs of Michigan’s veterans. The agency opened its doors on March 20, 2013, the 10th anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom. MVAA serves as the central coordinating agency within the state, connecting those who have served in the United States Armed Forces and their families, to services and benefits they’ve earned. MVAA is responsible for administration and operation of the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund, Michigan Veterans Homeowners Assistance Program, Michigan’s two veterans’ homes, constituent service or referral and the states grant to chartered veterans service organizations and the Michigan Association of County Veterans Counselors. In an effort to improve customer service, we will align the name and logo on this page to better reflect MVAA’s focus on veterans. If you are also interested in the military mission of the DMVA, we encourage you to like the Michigan National Guard page.
