Truer words I have never read. We should all hold this foremost in our minds. Matthew 5: 38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[a] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If someone is so in need that they must go against their inner most humanity and most basic sense of self and resort to stealing from you, do not be the one to cover them in guilt for their need, instead show them your generosity, rise them up by giving them that which they would steal. It is obvious that they must have had greater need. They may one day remember your kindness and do another a similar kindness. If we heap them in guilt do we not perpetuate that guilt, which we know will be passed on to another. Such is the way we change the world.
