Truth Without Sugar Matthew 11:1-6…What? John is - TopicsExpress

Truth Without Sugar Matthew 11:1-6…What? John is questioning?...For those of you who did not know, Jesus and John were cousins (Luke 1:41-44) and this is the same John that baptized Jesus (Matt 3:13-17). Now John had been imprisoned for his work of the gospel and probably like many of us questioned Jesus (My own thoughts coming here) because you know when you do something, a great work that can only be of the Lord, then you get trouble like John and thrown in jail we tend to question. I feel that this is what John was feeling because Satan likes to get in there and steel that moment away from us and cause us to question our own beliefs. Satan probably said to John “If that was Jesus, why are you in prison?” “So that’s what you get for serving God?” you know the questions we have all been asked something like that in our walks. I find comfort in knowing that most of the people in the bible questioned God at one point accept Enoch, Elisha and Joseph when he was sold into slavery by his brothers (I may be wrong) but we all have questions sometimes and need to see some proof, if you will, of who the Lord really is, just like John asked “Are You the expected One or should we look for another?” When the Lord works in our lives Satan will be the first to question so we should expect that he wants to steal, kill and destroy our joy. This is the time that we need to look back on the things that the Lord has done for us and recognize once more the great and wonderful things He has done in our lives. I pray that you have a marker in your life where you know that the Lord was with you, a place in which you can return and know without a doubt that the Lord meet you right there! These are anchors that show us the truth of the Lord and draw us back to belief and trust in who He is in our lives. Hebrews 6:18-19 admittedly may be a little out of context here but the marker that we have is where the Lord meet us; these markers are unchangeable in our lives and both gives and reminds us of our hope in the Lord.
