Truth Without Sugar (Part 4) In the New Testament we see Jesus - TopicsExpress

Truth Without Sugar (Part 4) In the New Testament we see Jesus as Peace loving and forgiving and yes He is, but again, does that mean we reject and excuse how God was in the Old Testament? We want to forget what was required by God in the Old because we don’t think it applies to us in the New Testament. If you want to see God’s judgment and grace read “Judges” and realize how much grace was given to God’s people but yet they also brought on their own judgment by being disobedient (“Because they did what was right in their own eyes”) That phrase, was and is, the key to judgment and lack of blessing in our churches and our Christian families my friends. (We do what we think is right) The grace and love that Jesus gives is still free because God wanted to give us, human kind, another way beside the prophets, but many times we have taken the “cheap grace” rout. “God desires that no man perish and all come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ” THAT is God’s will. And, He still wants just as much obedience from His people regardless that we think we have more grace given these NT days. Matthew 18:19-20… with these last two verses we have two different ideas here. Verse 19 speaks of “If two agree on something they may ask and it will be done by My Father who is in heaven.” Again this is in reference to things that will be “loosed or bound” but the end result will be dependent on the will of God. This is not two of my friends getting together with me and praying for that new “300” Chrysler sedan. That is not to say that we are to never pray that way but we are to pray expectantly and persistently in the way of the Lord. Remember the Lord’s Prayer “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt 6.10). There needs to be a better understanding of the will of God because if we are to be like Jesus then we need to be about the Fathers business. Leanne and I and many others have prayed that Leanne’s cancer be taken away, but Leanne was given a word from the Lord telling her “You will make it through, but you have to walk it through” Do we like that? No but we understand that it is the will of the Lord for Leanne and this season. Are we good with it? For the most part, do we get frustrated? Yes! Because we are not perfect, but the one thing we do know is verse 20 “Where two or three have gathered, Jesus is in the midst. Like · · Promote · Share
