Trying to get a refund on my electricity was only ever going to go one way... Neha is the EDF Energy Customer Service Advisor I have the pleasure of dealing with via the online chat having logged into EDF... Neha: I have checked the account and see that the account has been billed and the credit in the account is £ 272.40 in credit. Mark Taylor: yes Neha: And your Direct Debit has been reduced to £20 starting from August. Mark Taylor: yes, I want a refund and a more realistic month DD please Neha: In that case I will put the Direct Debit back to £89 and refund you £200. Neha: Is that okay? Mark Taylor: No, at £89 I am clearly paying too much so I suggest you refund me £250 and reduce the Direct debit to £70 Neha: I will need to keep some credit in the account so I will be able to process a refund of £200. Neha: As your annual review is in December so if there will be credit balance in the account it will be refunded back to you. Mark Taylor: that simply not acceptable Mark Taylor: Are you charging me in advance of any potential usage? Neha: No Mark. Mark Taylor: are you sandbagging the overpayment for your own commercial use? Neha: No Mark I will send the request for the refund. Mark Taylor: And my direct debit will be? Neha: I will keep the Direct Debit at £70 as requested. Mark Taylor: perfect, thank you. Neha: You are welcome.
