Trying to get caught up on emails after having been offline for the better part of this week *whew* and I opened an email that broke my heart. PLEASE DO NOT EVER, BUT EVER, BUY A PUPPY FROM A PET STORE AND FRANKLY, YOU SHOULD BOYCOT ANY PET STORE THAT SELLS PUPPIES- WE DO!! I know PetSmart has Adoption Days and I am not talking about that! They are helping adopt animals from local shelters and that is awesome. I am talking about stores like Uncle Bills that SELLS PUPPIES. 100% OF PUPPIES AT PET STORES COME FROM PUPPY MILLS, PERIOD. No breeder that loves or has any care at all for their dogs or puppies would EVER just sell them in bulk to a store or anywhere. And even the breeders that just saw them as a crop would still not be able to sell them to a pet store and still turn a profit as the pet store will add a very high overhead to churn their own profit. THE ONLY, ONLY, ONLY!!!! PLACES THAT CAN MAKE A PROFIT FROM SELLING TO A PET STORE ARE PUPPY MILLS- PLACES WHERE CAGES STACKED ON CAGES OF DOGS CRAMMED AND STUFFED WHO HAVE NO OTHER PURPOSE IN LIFE RATHER THAN TO REPRODUCE :( https://youtube/watch?v=eJIl2tdkYPY There are dozens of YOUTUBE videos out there on Puppy Mills and each one more heart breaking than the next. If you cannot afford to buy one from a breeder, then please, please PLEASE adopt :( We SUPPORT OUR LOCAL SHELTER 100%! We go as often as we can, are happy to volunteer and donate and take in, adopt and rehabilitate as often as we can. There are so many loving pets there that did not ask for the circumstances they were placed in. If anyone every wants to adopt, I would be very happy to volunteer my time to help in any way I can- look up local shelter in your area or visit any here to see what I can pull for you. But please, do not EVER feed the Puppy Mill Monster :(
