Ttic .. ANOTHER NUISANCE ON THE WAY .. See Migori Governor, Nyando MP out of office .. In Kenya its all about political rhetoric with Elections to By-elections one after another ... When do we turn the page from elections, settle on service delivery, debate on real issues facing Kenyans & how we can develop our country to leave it a better place that those to come after us fully enjoy & have pride in what we do today? Been in France for almost 2decades & word BY-ELECTION does not exist in the vocabulary over here .. These irrelevant processes cost kenyan taxpayer a fortune .. simply said .. its a WASTAGE OF FUNDS .. Now, how do we save these funds & direct them to meaningful use .. ABOLISH BY-ELECTIONS .. So what happens then if there is an election malpractice ?? MY REPLY; Some of these by-elections are due to petty issues that in developed democracies amount only to a penalty/fine .. but yes, some are grave .. but solutions that will cost Kenyans zero cash exist .. I HAVE TWO: 2) SUSPENSIONS WITH HUGE FINES .. the culprit in an election malpractice could be suspended for a period of time & gets back after fulfilling relevant pronounced conditions. The fine should be a heavy that scares & dissuades anyone from any wrong doing during an election season. 2) REPLACEMENTS .. on MPs .. if the malpractice is grave to a point one can no longer hold the office, let the county governments have the authority to vote in/select/choose an MCA from the constituency in question to take over till the next general elections .. on Senators & Women Reps .. a county MCA gets voted in by the county assembly to fill in till the next polls .. on Governors .. the deputy as the law clearly tells, takes over, but where bribery was the issue, 2 county MCAs should be sworn in to terminate the mandate after approval by the county assembly .. Nb: bribery been the major issue on most of these cases .. yet the same goes a note higher during the by-elections .. if constituents are damn enough to sell their RIGHT TO VOTE by accepting bribes, then logic demands that they get denied that right & dont get offered by courts of law another golden opportunity to EAT PETTY .. The only option is to give that HONORABLE duty to VOTE to responsible persons ie COUNTY ASSEMBLY to elect/select a representative for the easily bribed, atleast until the next polls .. saving the rest of RESPONSIBLE kenyans millions & billions on irrelevant by-elections .. Its said .. RIGHTS COME WITH RESPONSIBILITIES .. #frankALI
