Tuesday 10/2213 and Wednesday 10/23/13 Didn’t post yesterday—busy day. Bella gave birth early this morning. We were all so excited—or at least the women were. We were anxious to see them but we had a lunch date at Chick-fil-a. The friend we were meeting had recently lost her only daughter. It was sudden and unexpected and I wish you Beloveds would pray for her and her family. It is very sad. I had my usual healthy lunch of a large ice dream and waffle fries. After lunch we all went over to see Bella and her new babies. One is light orange and one in dark gray. They are so tiny and so cute. I have checked on her several times since they were born. I seem to be the resident expert on cats. The first kitty was still born. They put it in a little box and when the parents got home from work they and the kids had the funeral and buried the little one. The mother told me that the children (ages 3, 6, 8), all said something for the kitty. She said they said things that they had heard at the funeral for their Aunt a couple of weeks ago. How sweet is that. They named it Alfred and I am going to make a little headstone for the grave. The kids don’t know that yet. Later we picked up one of the grand kids from school and he wanted Baskin Robbins ice cream. I did not think it would be polite to let him eat his by himself so I had a dip of mint chocolate. You know it is pretty close to heaven when I can have both Chick-fil-a and Baskin Robbins ice cream on the same day. Then on to dinner at Long Horn. Good eating with good friends. God is good. Today my hostess had invited some friends of many years to breakfast. We came into Pentecost at about the same time. We have weathered good times and bad times and watched our children grow up and have children and families of their own. Later we took the youngest grand kid to Jackson’s Orchard. The problem was that it is on a hill and the wind was blowing and it was soooooo cold. We didn’t stay long. Normally it is a nice place to visit with playgrounds for kids and pumpkin patches and so many good varieties of apples and jellies. Most of the area schools schedule field trips to the Orchard in the fall. Time with the grand kids after school, good soup and cornbread for supper in a house filled with God’s love and Presence. As soon as I finish my Texas Chocolate sheet cake and milk, and post this, I will pinch out the candle and go to bed. Good night, Beloveds.
