Tuesday Devotional - 10/1/2013 "Law of the Harvest" Your sin will find you out. That is what I kept hearing. Whether it was because I had my hand in the cookie jar, or in later years when I was speeding through a stop sign, or later yet when the things I did could not be written in this devo. I’ve never been able to escape this truth of scripture, “Your sin will find you out.” This is the law of the harvest; what we sow will eventually produce fruit in our actions and will reap consequences. It is still true today. Where I sow pride, I alienate myself. Where I sow gluttony, I overweight myself. Where I sow lust, I defile my marriage. Where I sow lying, I destroy my character. Where I overspend, I bankrupt myself. After we come to the cross we are to consider the flesh life dead. Scripture says in Second Corinthians 4:2 that we “…have renounced the hidden things of shame…” For if the flesh is dead it is no longer in bondage, and if the things that are hidden become exposed (that is confessed) they are no longer shameful. Today, what is there to confess to another brother or sister in the faith so they can pray for you and you can be healed? What hidden thing, what shame causing thing have you kept tucked away, which God has exposed? Today, abandon it, renounce it, confess it, and be set free.
