Tuesday update: Scotts vitals remained the same last night. - TopicsExpress

Tuesday update: Scotts vitals remained the same last night. Today they tried to get him out of the bed and into a special chair for a while and it didnt go well. It only aggravated him and affected his heart rate. He failed his swallow test and still shows no movement or feeling on his left side. He is on continuous oxygen and does have an ng tube. Tomorrow, Wednesday, he will be assessed and might move to the stroke center down the hall. They still plan to do an MRI of his heart to assess damage, evaluate the clot that is there and confirm whether there is a tear or not. The doctors have reminded us of the dangers of both clots, and of brain swelling, and how they have to be managed carefully so they dont make eachother worse. Some have asked why they dont just remove the clots and the fact is its not an option. We also wanted everyone to know that the staff at Froedtert commended St. Cats for their treatment and for being so thorough. If they hadnt been, Scott wouldnt have made it this far. We want to stress how important it is that he stays calm and quiet. He is no where near out of the woods, and everything we do now will only help his progress in the future, especially if gets to the point where hes doing major rehab. We appreciate everyones thoughts, prayers, and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
