Tuesdays Topic: At Home No-nos Why you should never relax, perm or color hair at home. The number one reason to not use over-the-counter relaxers, perms and boxed colors is that often those grocery store products use the cheapest ingredients available for mass production. Additionally, most of us dont know how to properly check our hair like the directions tell us to do. Most of us simply are not qualified to know if the product is over processing our hair. Only qualified professionals know how to determine the time to process hair that is already chemically treated versus virgin hair. They are trained to know how to properly lighten your hair so it doesnt turn orange and they know how to apply color so that your hair looks evenly colored instead of having super light roots or disastrously darkened ends. You will save yourself a lot of heartache by letting the professionals do the job for you.
