Tunisia: Rotary District 9010 - Tunisian Nejoua Azzouz, First Elected Female Governor Tunisian Nejoua Azzouz is the first elected female governor of the District 9010 of Rotary Club. She will begin her term on July 1, 2016. The 30th Conference of the Rotary Club District 9010, held from May 1 to 3 in Monastir, ended with the election of the next three governors of the Rotary District 9010 for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 terms. The Rotary District 9010 has 80 clubs and 1,530 members in the North Africa region which covers Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Mauritania. Moroccan Jilani Antari will be the governor in 2014, Algerian Abdelkader Boutaleb will take over in 2015 before handing over the baton to Nejoua Azzouz in 2016. Najoua Azzouz, who had headed the Rotary Club of Marsa in 1998, said in a statement to TAP correspondent, she seeks to reach gender parity in the District, adding that the current number of female members does not exceed 18%. She also said, she plans to help women in interior regions of the country in the areas of training and creation of income sources.
